Taunton Innovations is a dynamic company helping to bring novel healthcare solutions from an idea to a finished product. We have a wide range of experience in both NHS and private primary and secondary care, together with expertise in business, product design and development and marketing. The diversity of experience in our team allows us to quickly and efficiently take an idea from a concept through product design, development and refinement, onto production, testing and marketing.
Whenever we develop a product one key focus for us is to optimise the environmental footprint, with reduction in waste (especially plastics) an added feature of our products.
We are able to offer support and assistance with your project whether it is just an idea or a nearly finished product.

Christian is our CEO, whose strengths combine skills and expertise in business development and business management with his experience as a GP. After completing a medical degree and additional PhD at Heidelberg University, Germany he pursued a clinical career in General Practice and Emergency Medicine whilst developing his interest in business management. Christian combines clinical work with overseeing the strategic direction and business management of a large GP surgery. In addition to this he is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Taunton Doctors Ltd, an award winning company providing healthcare solutions for patients.
In his spare time he enjoys a passion for wood-working & cooking as well as seeing his children getting very close to beating him in racket sports.

Tim has been a NHS GP Partner in Taunton since 2012, together with a Co-Founder and Director of Taunton Doctors Ltd, an award winning company providing healthcare solutions for patients. He has a medical degree and a Science BSc from Imperial College, London and is very experienced in research having completed his PhD in genetics. Leadership is one of Tim’s passions, with additional training undertaken at the Kings Fund during his GP speciality training.
When not busy with the above he is spending time with his wife and three children enjoying all the many opportunities Somerset offers an outdoor focused family!
Design Director: Steven Swan BA DipLA

After obtaining a Diploma and BA Degree in Landscape Architecture, Steve established a private design practice in Taunton, which he ran for nearly 30 years. With a drive for design, creativity and innovation he set up a company, Blade Innovations, to pursue his own products and patents and assist others with their innovations. This has included projects in sport, machinery, homewares and healthcare. In developing ideas and products, he has gained experience in manufacture and developed a passion for sustainable materials and production methods.
Outside work he enjoys competing and coaching in rowing, spending time with his wife in their Somerset community and helping his three grown up children develop their homes and other projects.
Clinical Director: Angus MacCormick RCN Consultant

Angus trained in the West of Scotland and worked in various teaching hospitals in Scotland before moving to Somerset. Along the way, he spent time working in the MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Orlando, Florida, a Hospital renowned for its pioneering work in Cancer research and treatments.
As a Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist, his main role is in the diagnosis of various urological cancers and benign conditions.
When not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 sons.

Nick has been a consultant urological surgeon for 15 years, working at Musgrove Park Hospital Taunton and the Royal Devon and Exeter.
After qualifying in medicine from Bristol University in 1990, he undertook surgical training and gained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1994. This led to a period of research In the Bristol Urological Institute into Prostate cancer and Nick was awarded an MD in 2000. In 2002 he passed his specialist urological examinations FRCS (Urolo) and completed specialist training in 2004 before commencing as a consultant in Taunton in January 2005.
Although his practice includes all aspects of general and emergency urology he has a specific interest in cancer of the prostate and kidney, including utilising the DaVinci robotic surgery.
Nick has always had a passion for innovation and strongly believes healthcare needs clinicians to lead and work with designers and engineers to make the real improvements in care we need. Clearly working with Taunton Doctors and Blade Innovations to form Taunton Innovations allows this collaboration to happen.
Luckily living in such a beautiful part of the world allows Nick to spend time with his wife, 4 children and a dog enjoying the hills and beaches on bicycles and surf boards.
